Syracuse woman apologizes in court for fatally stabbing 13-year-old during fight

Syracuse, N.Y. – A Syracuse woman cried as she apologized for fatally stabbing a 13-year-old girl during a fight in 2021.
Xomara Diaz, now 19, was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison for causing the death of Naj’ee Wright on May 24, 2021, on the 1200 block of West Onondaga Street during a fight with a group of girls. Diaz was 16 years old at the time.
